Mangrove Faunia The crocodile opens a new subject area in which you can admire spectacular specimens of Nile crocodile (Crocodrylus niloticus) over 3 meters in length. This installation recreates a typical African mangroves, wetlands and forest near the sea with sandy beaches where the Nile crocodiles hunt their prey and bury their egg production.
The Nile crocodile (Crocodrylus niloticus) is one of the three species of this reptile living in Africa and second largest in the world. His specimens can reach 6 m. long and 1,000 kg. weight. They are also very aggressive animals and a powerful bite. Nile crocodiles are genuine and prehistoric remains that have changed little morphologically since the time of the dinosaurs. It lives in lakes and freshwater rivers throughout sub-Saharan Africa and western Madagascar. It feeds on animals come to drink and to catch a spectacular surprise attack.
